Talisker 8 Year Old Special Release 2024, also called Tidal Churn, is a single malt from the Isle of Skye, bottled at a natural cask strength of 58.7%. It belongs to Diageo's 2024 Special Releases, under the theme Spirited Xchange 2.0.
The whisky matured in a combination of stone-spun and lightly toasted casks, where stone wheels are used to polish the inside of the cask.
The nose offers sea breeze, oyster shells and peat moss, with apple and pear. Pepper, salt and fresh minerality lead the palate, and the finish is long, with lingering spice, smoke and a cooling feel.
