This is a 10 year old tawny port from Taylor, Fladgate & Yeatman, the Port house founded in 1692 in Vila Nova de Gaia. It is bottled at 20% vol.
The port is a blend that has spent an average of ten years in seasoned oak casks. Slow oxidative ageing softens the fruit and builds layers of nutty, caramelised, dried fruit and spice character. It is ready to drink on release.
The colour is a warm amber. The nose offers dried figs, apricot and plums with walnut, caramel, toffee and gentle spice. On the palate it is medium-bodied and soft, with jammy dried berries, brown sugar, caramelised nuts and a hint of chocolate. The finish is long, with toffee, dried fruit and nutty warmth.
