Teeling – Blackpitts Peated Single Malt (2021) (46%)

Teeling Blackpitts is a peated Irish single malt, named after the Blackpitts neighbourhood in Dublin. It is made from peated malted barley only and was bottled in 2021 at 46%, non-chill-filtered. It was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-Sauternes casks. The nose opens with soft peat smoke, campfire and light ash, followed by citrus, green apple and a subtle sweetness. On the palate it is creamy and balanced, with honey, roasted malt, light vanilla and a dry smoke. The finish is medium to long, with lingering smoke, soft spices and a fresh, almost mineral note.
