Teeling Blackpitts Peated Single Malt (70cl, 46%)

Teeling Blackpitts is a peated Irish single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 46% without chill-filtering or added colour. The malted barley is dried over peat and the spirit is triple distilled. It matures in ex-bourbon casks and ex-Sauternes white wine casks, a pairing inspired by Teeling's 24 year old single malt. The name refers to the historic Blackpitts area behind the Dublin distillery. On the nose, barbecue smoke and cloves meet butterscotch and orange peel. The palate brings apple wood smoke, honey and allspice alongside stewed pears and grilled pineapple. The finish holds salted caramel, wood and savoury smoke.
