Blackpitts is a peated Irish single malt from Teeling, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It is the first peated whiskey in the Teeling range. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks (two thirds) and ex-Sauternes casks (one third).
The nose combines peat smoke and glowing charcoal with pear and citrus. The palate is fruitier still, with pineapple and apple, then honey, butterscotch and a little saltiness. The finish has the smokiness of a hearth fire.
