Teeling – Single Grain Wine Cask Finish (70cl, 46%)

This is an Irish single grain whiskey from Teeling, finished in ex-Cabernet Sauvignon red wine casks from California. It comes in a 70cl bottle with a tube. The mash is 95% maize and 5% malted barley, and the spirit was triple distilled. It is bottled at 46% without chill-filtering or added colour, in an edition of 5,000 bottles. Spice and fruit mingle on the nose over a sweet, sugary base. The palate is sweet and fruity, with vanilla, butter and honey. The finish is short and dry, with tannin from the red wine.
