Teeling – Stout Cask Finish (70cl, 46%)

Teeling Stout Cask Finish is an Irish whisky from the Small Batch Collaborations series, a run of projects with other craft producers. Galway Bay Brewery ages its 200 Fathoms Imperial Stout in casks that previously held Teeling Small Batch, and Teeling then takes the casks back to finish the whisky in them. It was bottled in 2018 at 46% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour. The nose brings dark chocolate, truffle, tart apples and a hint of sea spray. Sweet malt, roasted barley, sour fruit and black cherries show on the palate, and the finish holds bitter orange, wholemeal biscuit, honeycomb and cream.
