Teeling Stout Cask Finish is a blended Irish whiskey, created as a collaboration with Galway Bay Brewery. Teeling supplied ex-rum barrels, which the brewery used to age its 200 Fathoms Imperial Stout. The emptied casks went back to Teeling, were refilled with Teeling Small Batch Whiskey and left for over six months. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The notes describe dark chocolate, roasted coffee, vanilla and warming spice on the nose. The palate is rich and layered, with dark fruit, chocolate and a subtle bitterness from the stout cask, followed by a long, warming finish.
