Teeling – Wonders of Wood Virgin Portuguese Oak (Second Edition) (70cl, 50%)

Teeling Wonders of Wood Virgin Portuguese Oak is the second edition in the Wonders of Wood series, a triple-distilled Dublin single pot still whiskey bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The grain recipe is equal parts malted and unmalted barley. The whiskey spends its entire maturation in new Portuguese oak casks rather than receiving a finish in them. It is bottled without chill-filtration or added colour. With each release Teeling works with the Tree Council of Ireland to plant native Irish trees. The nose offers ripe red fruit, berries and pears with toasted wood and spice. On the palate, fruit and spice meet oak tannins and burnt sugar, and the finish joins honey and spice with lingering fruit.
