It is batch 01 of the bottler's Australian series, with an outturn of 340 bottles. Belgrove is known for its rye whiskies, made by Peter Bignell, a Tasmanian farmer turned distiller who is recognised for his unconventional equipment and techniques. The nose is barbecued pineapple and smoky mezcal, with green fruits and peppery rye malt. On the palate come fireplace embers, lemon and honey, milk chocolate and white sugar.
