Belgrove is run by Peter Bingnell, a Tasmanian farmer turned distiller known for his unconventional equipment and techniques. The whisky is made from 100% Australian rye, and the label shows a whiteboard flow chart of his process. The nose is smoky, with mezcal, barbecued pineapple, green fruit and peppery rye malt. The palate brings lemon, honey, fireplace embers, milk chocolate and white sugar.
