The Character of Islay Laphroaig 1997 21 Year Old

This is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled at Laphroaig in 1997 and aged for 21 years, bottled under The Character of Islay label. Each bottle is individually numbered. The nose combines roasted chestnuts and caramelised oranges with strong smoke, a hint of medicinal character and a touch of black tea. On the palate there is smoky peat and chewy toffee sweetness, with firm oak and a little briny seaweed. The finish is delicate ash and lingering smoke, with dates and oily walnuts.
