The Gauldrons is a small-batch Campbeltown blended malt Scotch whisky from independent bottler Douglas Laing & Co. It is bottled at 46.2% ABV, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring.
The blend draws only on Campbeltown's three working distilleries: Springbank, Glengyle (Kilkerran) and Glen Scotia. The name roughly translates as 'bay of storms', after a stretch of Scotland's west coast battered by sea winds.
The nose is of sea air, gentle smoke, manuka honey and dried seaweed, with vanilla and waxy fruit. The palate brings sea salt, black pepper, shortbread and cereal. The finish is medium-long, with smoke, vanilla, cinnamon and toffee.
