This is Batch 12 of The GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength, a Speyside single malt bottled at 59.7% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, red wine barriques and virgin oak barrels. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
The nose is of mocha, fig syrup, roasted hazelnuts, honeycomb, dried red berries and molasses tart. On the palate come baking spices, brandy-soaked cherries, caramel sauce, Black Forest gateau, mocha and grilled honeycomb. The finish brings molasses and plum.
