This is the thirteenth batch of The GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength, a Speyside single malt bottled at 59.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in Pedro Ximénez sherry, Oloroso sherry, red wine and virgin oak casks. It has a deep chestnut colour, described as burnished mahogany.
The nose brings mocha, crystallised ginger and cinnamon, then mānuka honey, muscovado sugar, treacle and maraschino cherries. On the palate come cocoa, salted caramel and warmed honey, with baking spices, blood orange and molasses tart. The finish carries glazed blackberries and fig syrup.
