This is a ten-year-old Speyside single malt from GlenAllachie, part of a series in which the whiskies are finished in different types of cask. It matures first in American oak, then spends a second period in ex-port casks.
The port casks give it a red glow, along with notes of chocolate and fruit.
The nose combines honey, herbs, rose petals, berries and dark chocolate. Honey fills the mouth on the palate, followed by caramel, syrup, dark chocolate and some floral notes.
