This is a 19 year old Speyside single malt from The GlenAllachie, part of the Masters of Wood series selected by Master Distiller Billy Walker. It is bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill filtration.
The spirit first matured in bourbon casks, then moved for a second maturation into Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso casks that had held sherry in a traditional solera system for over 55 years.
The nose offers brandied plum, mocha, honeycomb, caramel snaps, molasses tart and cocoa. On the palate come plum syrup, treacle and heather honey, then black cherries, mocha, brandied orchard fruits, crystallised cinnamon and ginger.
