This is a 35-year-old single malt from The GlenAllachie, carrying a 1990 vintage and bottled at cask strength, 50.2%, in a 70cl bottle. Master Distiller Billy Walker chose four cask types for it: Mizunara virgin oak, American virgin oak, Oloroso sherry and Pedro Ximénez sherry. The Mizunara is Japanese oak from 200-year-old trees. Together with the three other cask types, it gives a full-bodied malt of warm spice, dried fruit, vanilla and molasses. The nose offers mocha, crystallised cinnamon and treacle tart, with cocoa, toasted hazelnuts and pineapple. The palate brings cocoa, baking spices and chocolate-coated raisins, then coconut, brandied orchard fruits and sandalwood.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
