This is The GlenAllachie 21 Years Old, Batch 5, a Speyside single malt bottled at cask strength, 49.2%, in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no colour added.
The nose brings ripe black cherries and honeycomb with brandy, alongside spiced orange, dense molasses and blackberry tart. On the palate come dark chocolate, dried red berries and maraschino cherries, followed by heather honey and crystallised ginger. The finish recalls plum eau-de-vie and mocha.
