The third batch of The GlenAllachie 30 Year Old Cask Strength is a Speyside single malt drawn from casks dating back to the early 1990s. It combines Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks with several first-fill American oak casks. It is bottled at its natural cask strength of 48.9% ABV, without added colour or chill-filtration, in an edition of 2,400 bottles.
The colour is deep mahogany. The nose brings roasted almonds, honey, orchard fruit, worn leather, butterscotch, orange peel and dark chocolate. The palate shows grape must, hazelnut, honeycomb, citrus, toffee and ginger, with cinnamon and mocha in the finish.
