The GlenAllachie – 9 Year Old 2014 Oloroso Sherry Series (70cl, 48%)

This is a 9 year old single malt from The GlenAllachie in Speyside, finished in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled in a 70cl bottle at 48% ABV. It belongs to The Wood Collection and is natural colour and non-chill filtered. The Oloroso butts bring the darkest, dry style of sherry to the whisky, one known for nutty and dried fruit character. It sits alongside the honey-rich house style of the distillery. The flavours are described as bold layers of coffee beans, sticky raisins, stem ginger and figs.
