This is a single cask bottling from The GlenAllachie, a Speyside single malt drawn from one 15-year-old virgin oak barrel. The outturn is 283 bottles at 56.9%.
Fifteen years in virgin oak has given a cask-forward whisky. The nose shows toasted hazelnuts, milk chocolate, grilled honeycomb, vanilla sponge and hints of pineapple and green apple. The palate is rich and sweet, with butterscotch, salted caramel, heather honey, vanilla and treacle. The finish is dry and sweetly spiced, with baked cinnamon, ginger and a touch of mocha.
