This is a 13 year old single cask Speyside single malt from GlenAllachie, a 2011 whisky matured in an Oloroso sherry hogshead. It is bottled at 60.6% in a 70cl bottle and is not chill filtered.
The sherry wood brings rich dried fruit and spice to the malt spirit.
The nose combines dark chocolate, mocha and salted caramel with orange zest, heather honey and a touch of winter truffle. The palate offers dried orchard fruits, stewed plums, muscovado sugar and honeycomb, closing with cinnamon and crystallised ginger. The finish carries oak, soft spice and lingering fruit sweetness.
