This is The GlenAllachie Sinteis Part I, a 2014 Speyside single malt bottled at a cask strength of 57.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered.
Sinteis is Gaelic for 'synthesis', and the series pairs two woods. Here the malt was matured in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry puncheons and in Chinquapin, a native American oak from the Ozarks in Missouri.
The nose is liquorice, butterscotch and grilled honeycomb with candied orchard fruits and cocoa. On the palate come ginger, candied lemon, fig jam and blackberries, and the finish brings cinnamon and rich cocoa.
