This is a Speyside single malt from The GlenAllachie, the second part of its Sinteis series. The name is Scottish Gaelic for 'synthesis' and refers to the pairing of two woods: Oloroso sherry casks and rare Scottish virgin oak barrels.
It is bottled at a cask strength of 58.2%, with natural colour and without chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose offers mocha, grilled honeycomb and sun-dried red berries, with cinnamon butter, toasted lemon peel and muscovado sugar. On the palate come heather honey, citrus and warm baking spices, then gingersnaps and poached orchard fruits. Mocha and vanilla buttercream run through the finish.
