This is a 13 year old single cask Highland malt from The Glendronach, distilled on 2 January 1996 and bottled in August 2009. It was matured in an Oloroso sherry butt and bottled at a cask strength of 54.1% in a 70cl bottle, with no colouring or chill-filtration. The bottling is one of 399 bottles.
The colour is mahogany. The nose is full Oloroso, with coffee, chocolate and prunes, faint flinty hints of struck matches and cassis jam.
On the palate there are plenty of prunes and raisins, with cranberry juice and blackberry jam, and it stays smooth despite the strength. The finish is very long and a little sweet, with jelly beans and cassis bonbons.
