Fusion Cask is a Speyside single malt from The Glenlivet, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It matures first in a mix of American and European oak casks.
It is then moved into finishing casks made from first-fill rum and first-fill bourbon barrels, taken apart and rebuilt with the heads swapped between the two, so each cask carries both woods. The technique was developed under the distillery's cask expert Kevin Balmforth.
The nose brings orange zest, lemon, vanilla custard, caramel and toasted coconut. On the palate are ripe apricot, peach and apple, then toffee banana, honey and a little cinnamon. The finish is sweet and medium in length, with orange and toasted coconut.
