The Kurayoshi Matsui Sakura Cask is a single malt Japanese whisky made by Matsui Shuzo at the Kurayoshi Distillery in Tottori Prefecture. It is bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It is made from malted barley and matured in casks of Japanese Sakura cherry wood, an alternative to conventional oak. It is brought to bottling strength with natural water from Mount Daisen.
The nose offers cherry blossom, green apple, poached pear and red berries. The palate brings golden caramel, baked apple and creamy malt with cinnamon, and the finish is orange oil with soft pepper.
