The Liberator Storehouse Special Malt x Rye Cask (70cl, 59.2%)

This is a triple-distilled Irish single malt, distilled in 2019 and bottled in 2025 at a cask strength of 59.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is a Storehouse Special from The Liberator, matured and bottled by Wayward Irish Spirits at the Lakeview Estate near Killarney. In February 2024 the whiskey was filled into 120-litre casks that had held Catoctin Creek rye whiskey from Virginia, and it stayed there for 20 months. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The nose shows vanilla cream and honey over a sweet base, with spice. The palate brings fruit and herbal notes together with caramel and pepper. The finish is long, warm and spicy.
