The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask is a single malt matured in a combination of European and American oak casks. Both types of cask were seasoned with sherry in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
The two woods, together with the sherry used to season them, give the whisky its flavour and colour. It is described as smooth and creamy. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
