This is The Macallan 12 Year Old Sherry Oak Cask, a Highland single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in sherry oak, and is rich gold in colour. The whisky writer F Paul Pacult's praise is not needed here; what the bottle offers is dried fruits and sherry, balanced with wood smoke and spice. The nose combines vanilla with a hint of ginger, dried fruits, sherry sweetness and wood smoke. On the palate it is smooth, with rich dried fruits and sherry set against smoke and spice. The finish brings sweet toffee and dried fruits, with wood smoke and spice.
