This is the 2021 release of The Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask, an 18 year old single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
It is aged in two types of oak, both seasoned with dry Oloroso sherry. American oak contributes vanilla, citrus and butterscotch, while European oak adds the subtle spice associated with The Macallan. The two matured whiskies are then united, giving a sweeter, warmer character.
