This is the 2024 release of The Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak, a single malt bottled at 43% ABV. It is matured for 18 years in sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez, Spain, and is characterised by mature oak, ginger and raisin flavours.
The nose offers treacle tart with stem ginger, soaked raisins and sultanas, with a hint of orange and ground cinnamon. The palate is soft and rich, with dark chocolate-coated ginger, dates and dried apricots balanced by oak and vanilla sweetness. The finish is lingering, with dried fruits, ginger and oak.
