The Macallan Double Cask 18 Years Old is a single malt in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV.
It brings together European and American oak, both seasoned with sherry in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. The result is a whisky with a sweeter, warmer character.
The nose offers dried fruits and toffee, candied citrus peel, and ginger with hints of nutmeg. On the palate there is raisin, sultana and dried apricot, with treacle toffee, vanilla and ginger, balanced by toasted wood spice and baked apple. The finish is lingering, with warm oak and citrus.
