This is a 1970 Macallan bottled in 1992 by the Italian company Moon Import for its The Sea series. It is a single malt at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle, number 192 of 780.
The nose is elegant and subtle, with perfumed talc, old roses, cherry liqueur and apricot pie, then wet stones, fresh herbs and a late arrival of sherry with sultanas, dill and fennel. The palate is smooth and spicy, with ripe apricots, yellow plums, nutmeg, coriander and star anise, then mint, parsley and sage, with firm oak. The finish is rather long, with apricots, tannins and slightly drying cinnamon.
