This is an 18 year old Highland single malt from The Macallan, distilled in 1976 and matured in sherry wood casks. It was bottled in 1994 at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The nose shows old walnuts, wax polish, cooked apricots, old wood, leather, cigarette tobacco and orange marmalade, with a faint soapiness. On the palate there is apricot juice, tinned pineapple, mint drops, smoked tea, roasted nuts and a little milk chocolate. The finish is medium to long, with caramelised fruits and a sweet white wine character.
