A 25 year old Speyside single malt from The Macallan, from the Fine Oak range. It was matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, bottled in 2004 at 43% ABV and sold in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is sweet, fruity and delicate, with warm tropical fruit such as pineapple, orange and mandarin, floral notes, apple and citrus, and a toffee sweetness. The palate is very soft and oily, with ripe fruit, sherried oranges, cinnamon, a little chocolate and coffee. The finish is warm and spicy with light wood and cinnamon, long with dried fruit and spice, and vanilla comes through strongly at the end.
