The Macallan 25 Years Old Sherry Oak is a Speyside single malt matured for a quarter of a century in oak casks seasoned with sherry in Jerez, Spain. This is the 2023 release, at 43% in a 70cl bottle, with a natural mahogany colour.
The nose offers dried fruit, apricot, ginger and a hint of citrus over deep smoked oak. The palate is warming, with layers of dried fruit, black cherry and chocolate alongside sugar and gentle wood smoke. The finish is very long, with dried fruit, woody herbs and a soft smokiness.
