This is a limited-edition single malt from The Macallan, the 2023 release in its A Night on Earth series, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV.
It celebrates Hogmanay, the Scottish New Year, and was created with Chinese artist Nini Sum, drawing on her early memories of New Year celebrations. The whisky was matured in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks, and it comes in a multi-layered gift box with her designs.
The nose offers toasted oak, steamed rice and coconut milk pudding, citrus, vanilla and oat biscuits. On the palate, lemon and lime meet vanilla sponge and toasted coconut, and the finish is medium, with sweet toasted oak and vanilla.
