The Macallan – Amber 1824 Series (70cl, 40%)

The Macallan Amber is a single malt from the colour-named 1824 Series, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in sherry casks and has the amber colour its name suggests. The nose is floral and citrus-sweet at first, then grows in presence with vanilla over freshly harvested grain, raisin, sultana, cinnamon, toffee apple and candy floss. On the palate, fresh green apple and lemon mingle with cinnamon and ginger, with subtle oak in the background. The finish is light to medium, with soft fruits and cereal, and slightly dry.
