The Macallan – Archival Series Folio 6 (70cl, 43%)

The Macallan Folio 6 is the sixth release in the Archival Series, a collection created to commemorate the distillery's print, press and advertising campaigns of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. This is the 2018 edition, a limited release bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is a Highland single malt, autumnal auburn in colour. The nose brings orange and ginger, then poached pear and vanilla, with cinnamon, nutmeg, fresh oak and a hint of chocolate. On the palate, orange and sultana lead into ginger and soft milk chocolate, and the finish is long with ginger warmth.
