The Macallan Concept No.1 (70cl, 40%)

This is a single malt from Macallan, the first release in the Concept Series, made for global travel retail. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It matured only in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, used in an unconventional sequence. It has a natural amber colour and a surrealist design. The nose offers citrus, pink grapefruit and lemon with sweet caramel, ginger, vanilla and cinnamon. The palate has rich vanilla, crisp apple and lemon tart, with cinnamon, ginger and subtle oak leading to creamy caramel. The finish is medium in length and warming, with lasting sweetness, gentle fruit and oak spice.
