This is an 18 year old single malt from The Macallan, made to mark the 55th anniversary of the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever and the continuing partnership between the distillery and the 007 franchise. It was distilled in 2007 and bottled at 45.5% ABV, a strength chosen to reflect the anniversary. The whisky was matured in first-fill European oak sherry casks, first-fill American oak sherry casks and hybrid sherry-seasoned oak casks. It also includes American oak casks previously seasoned with red wine, a first for The Macallan. The nose offers polished oak, vanilla bean, dried figs, berries and gentle spice. The palate brings creamy caramel, chocolate truffles dusted with cocoa, ripe apricots, dried fruits, nutmeg and warming oak, and the long finish carries sweet spice, dark fruit and oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
