The Macallan Double Cask 15 Year Old is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, matured for 15 years in sherry-seasoned casks of both American and European oak. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It pairs the dried fruit character associated with The Macallan with the creamy sweetness of American oak.
On the palate it is typically described as dried raisin, sultana and baked apple, with honey, vanilla and butterscotch, then orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg and toasted oak. The finish is long, with sweet spice, oak and a little citrus.
