This is The Macallan Double Cask 18 Year Old, the 2021 annual release, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is matured in two types of oak, in hand-crafted casks seasoned with dry Oloroso sherry. American oak contributes delicate vanilla, citrus and butterscotch, while European oak adds the subtle spice associated with The Macallan.
The two matured whiskies are brought together into a single malt with a sweeter, warmer character.
