The Macallan Double Oak 30 Years Old is a Speyside single malt aged for thirty years and bottled at 43% ABV. It is matured in sherry-seasoned casks made from both American and European oak, the American oak adding a delicate sweetness and the European oak richer spice and structure.
The casks used for the Double Oak series are seasoned with Oloroso sherry in Jerez, Spain.
The nose offers dried fruit, honey and orange zest with vanilla, warm oak and gentle spice. The palate is silky and full-bodied, with butterscotch, fig and cinnamon alongside sherry sweetness and toasted wood. The finish is very long, with cocoa, oak and sweet dried fruit.
