The Macallan Litha is a single malt Scotch whisky released in 2023 for the Chinese market, at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Litha means light, and it is the name the Celts gave to the summer solstice.
The whisky was matured exclusively in first-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez de la Frontera in Spain. The presentation box carries an illustration by Sija Hong, with Scotland in blue on the right and Spain in red on the left.
The nose offers butterscotch, vanilla and chocolate with citrus and tropical fruit. The palate brings vanilla ice cream with berry compote, toasted oak, warming spice, salted caramel and pecans. The finish is medium, with fruit, vanilla and oak.
