This is the 2021 release of The Macallan Rare Cask, a single malt drawn from a carefully chosen number of rare sherry casks. Both European and American oak are used, and many of the casks will not be used again.
It is bottled at 43% ABV and has a deep mahogany colour.
The nose offers vanilla, dried fruit, oak and cocoa. The palate balances spice and sweetness with dark chocolate. The finish is long, warm and silky.
