The Macallan Rare Cask 2023 Release is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky at 43% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. It is made from sherry-seasoned oak casks chosen by the Whisky Mastery Team for their intense sweet raisin character.
This edition is a collaboration with Charlie Burchill of Simple Minds, exploring the links between sound, aroma, flavour and colour through the shared element of wood.
The colour is ruby mahogany. The nose offers soft vanilla and rich raisin, then fresh apple, lemon and orange. Raisin dominates the palate before vanilla, dark chocolate and light citrus zest, and the finish is long, rich and velvety.
