The Macallan – Sherry Oak 12 Year Old

The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured for a minimum of twelve years on The Macallan Estate in Craigellachie, on the River Spey. It is matured predominantly in sherry seasoned European oak casks prepared in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, and its colour is entirely natural. The distillery dates from 1824 and is known for small, curiously shaped stills that make a robust, fruity new make spirit. The nose is dried fruit and candied citrus peel, with oak, ginger and nutmeg. The palate brings raisins and sultanas with ginger syrup, sweet cinnamon and a hint of vanilla. The finish is long, with oak and warming ginger.
